We scrape, bend, we chip away, we stumble over rocks in the light of the fading day. Not sure what we came here to find and we come up empty handed, every time.

Some may think our quest is petty but I've got some stories to tell you if you'd let me. Don't always see what we came to see but there's always plenty of fossils underneath.

Bones of birds and dinosaurs and long gone palm fronds uncovered once more. Eagerly reaching for the sun although they know their living days are done.

As I run my fingers over the stones my mind slips back to a time I do not know. Where horsetails were as big as trees and the scent of flowers didn't grace the evening breeze.
